REFUSED LICENSES IN OHIO Three Trainers, Two Jockeys and Two Valets Denied Papers by Buckeye Board. COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 8.— Announcement was made today by the license board of the Ohio Racing Commission of the denial of licenses to trainers Frank "Red" Wood, Rees Clark and Harry Smart; jockeys J. Pevic and N. J. Barnes, and valets J. H. Rice and J. Uslin. Over 450 applications have been considered by the license board, headed by William Dangman, presiding steward at Beulah Park Jockey Club, and including John Devanney of Cincinnati. Their report when completed will be filed with the secretary of the commission. Applications of several trainers have been tabled for further consideration, the list including Enrique Gondrand, Edwin Stege-wers, Kenneth Horvath, Joe Floody, Ed Fec-teau, B. P. Hill. John Madlener, C. Young, H. H. Smith and W. H. Titler. Jockey agents have been denied licenses at Beulah Park, except where they are connected with stables and have full agency for same. Agents granted licenses include Thomas Price, for Z. E. McGregor and apprentice Pat Camp; Norman Sudduth. for E. B. Shipp and jockeys P Martinez and F. Polk; Devern Emery, for Glenn and Sam Gorbet and jockeys G. Dobson and S. Vail; Jerry Dolan, for F. E. Turner and jockey W. Lowe; J. W. Frye, for R. F. Tice and jockey F. Tice, and Sam Wainwright, for E. W. Wanner and jockoy G. Miller.
