FREIGHT CAR ORDERS UP NEW YORK, N. Y., May 8.-Raiiroad equipment orders placed during the month of April totaled 3,650 freight cars, of which 700 are to be built in railroad shops. These figures represent a gain of over 600 per cent over the same period last year, when 600 orders were received.
