Won easily ; second and third the same. DANGER POINT drew away into a safe lead and showed speed from the start, shook off DIRECT in the stretch and had something left at the end. THE QUEEN began slowly and was outrun to the stretch turn, responded when straightened out and finished gamely. DIRECT, a forward factor from the start, saved ground all the way and had no mishaps. MATCH POINT moved into contention from a slow start, lost ground entering the stretch and tired from its early efforts. BALLEROY showed a flash of early speed. DONALD DUCK was outrun. Start good and slow. Won easily ; second and third driving. LAIRD was rushed into command after the break, drew away into a safe lead, was rated along steadily and held his field safe to the end. FINISHER slipped through on the inside rounding the stretch turn and closed resolutely. MISS RAINBOW was outrun in the early stages, came to the outside for the stretch run and closed gamely. DEMONSTRATION improved his position steadily and finished well. PORTDEN was away well, but was bothered after going an eighth and knocked back. VALE OF TEARS ran in spots. ELDEE quit. CYNWYD followed the early pace under steady restraint, moved into command when called upon and drew away under urging through the stretch. CHATTERDOO, a forward factor all the way, raced PRINCE CHARLO into defeat and held on with good courace. KAPENA was kept forwardly all the way, but was bearing out slightly in the stretch and bothered RHODESIA. The latter, on the outside all the way. lost ground turning for home and was moving stoutly when bumped nearing the eighth post. PRINCE CHARLO raced evenly. COUNT ME, fractious at the post, was carried wide rounding the first turn and could not improve his position thereafter. FOURTH RACE 5-8 MILE. Outline, Mav 16, 1923 — :58%— 2— 111. DRAWBRIDGE moved up fast on the outside entering the stretch, made a determined bid when called upon and outlasted BAD DREAMS in the final drive. The latter, quick to start, was outrun in the early stages, saved ground at the turns, came to the outside in the stretch and finished well. MAECLOUD closed fast from a "slow beginning. BOGERTIN improved his position steadily, moved up fast on the outside rounding the far turn, lost ground at the stretch and came again at the finish. FLYING FALCON raced forwardly and had no mishaps. KAWAGOE broke well and, rushed into command, rated along steadily, but bore out badly after rounding the stretch turn and carried MURIELLYN out with him. The latter improved her position steadily on the outside, and was gaining fast when carried out in the stretch. FLOWERY LADY, outrun in the early stages, moved up when called upon, ran into close quarters nearing the stretch and then faltered. DUDLEY C. raced evenly throughout.
