ONE NIGHT entered into contention with a rush and held on stoutly in the closing drive. CAPT. YARBROUGH, in closest pursuit of the winner early, held on well to the close. MOFO, well placed, was going willingly at the end. WHITTLE, away fast, lacked speed to hold his position and was shuflfed back, but recovered gamely and closed some ground. INFINATA forced the early pace, assumed a slisht lead when the early pacemaker began tirine. but was unable to keep pace when challenged. RAMS HEAD, roused repcatedlv to keep up. closed well though never a threat to the first two. STEALTH, well placed, dropped back after going a halt mile. PANICLE was outrun. NIPANTUCK, prominently placed from the start, withstood early opposition from GOLDEN SEPTRE, drew clear after disposing of his threat and held GRANDPAS BOY safe at the end. The latter im-proved his position steadily, but bore out through the last eighth. PLATINUM BLONDE improved her position gradually and closed with good energy in the final drive. SEAWICK, outpaced early, closed a good gap. COUNT TETRARCH was unable to keep up. GOLDEN SEPTRE dropped back steadily in the last three eighths. UNDULATE, unable to keep up early, closed with good energy through the stretch run. OPEN RANGE, under steadying restraint early, came willingly in the closing drive. LITTLE DINAH had speed from the stait and raced prominently placed all the way. though unable to keep up in the closing five sixteenths. WISE ANNE tired after holding to a forward position for the first half mile. SCATTER BRAIN dropped back steadily in the first quarter mile, but was going in determined fashion when too late. SUN MONK, unable to keep pace early, came gamely through the stretch run, getting up for second in the closing strides. BOSTON BROOK, hard ridden to get to the front, showed eood speed, though tiring slightly in the last few yards. MINEY MYERSON displaved eood speed for the fust half mile, thouih unable to keep pace in the closing drive. GREAT HASTE was shufilcd back nearing the half mile eround. COLONEL ED. shuttled back at the start, displayed a burst of speed leaving the back stretch, but was unable to keep pact in the closing five sixteenths. Overweight — Dash In. 44 pounds. ALLEN Z. had speed from the start and, fighting it out courageously, was not good enough. STEEL CUTTER was prominently placed throughout, but was unable to improve his position in the drive. NEW DEAL, steadied along in back of the pace, failed to respond to hard uraing. HOWARD, outrun early, could never enter into contention, though closing some ground. ROCK POINT displayed speed from the start, disposed of PLUCKY BABY, but was unable to withstand the bid of the winner. PLUCKY BABY was a forward factor all the wav. though faltering in the last quarter mile. ROYAL GOLD never entered into serious contention. RESERVIST tired after racing five eighths. The latter improved his position steadily and closed in determined fashion through the stretch. LONE HAND took command in the run to the first turn, was rated along in lront under steadwng restraint, but was unable to keep pace when challenged. DANCING BOY moved up stoutly loavine the back stretch, assumed a slight lead approarhine the stretch, but was unable to keep pace in the drive. BYE BYE MARY, well placed early, faltered in the last three eighths. YAP quit badly after a flash of early speed. Overweight — Blondella, 3 pounds.
