Another prominent stable was added to the long list of reservations this morning I when C. C. Van Meter decided to ship to Latonia. It will be the first time in several years that the Van Meter performers will i be at Latonia, but for many years it was one of the leading establishments of the northern Kentucky season. All of the larger stables going to Latonia will have stake candidates for the Chicago and Detroit meetings, and they will fill their engagements at those tracks. From all indications the best stables to I have been at Latonia in years will be there this season. The stakes and purse values have been increased since last year, ar.d this has aided in attracting a. large number Of ■ leading stables.
