BALAXY hustled into the lead from the start, was rated in front under restraint into the stretch, shook off challenges from GREEN IRIS and TRICKY LADY and drew out with something in reserve. GREEN IRIS, well placed from the start, moved up stoutly through the stretch, but was not good enough. TRICKY LADY, always a strong contender, challenged stoutly in the stretch, but faltered at the end. NOTROUBLE lacked early speed, but closed a good gap. LOTTA WELLES had good early speed while racing on the outside, but tired. GOLDEN GAIN lost ground steadily. SANTA ROLO could never threaten. CHARLES J., slow to settle into his best stride, worked his way forward on the outside through the stretch, swung to the inside entering the stretch, was fortunate in finding racing room and drew out in the final sixteenth. REE sprinted into command at once, was rated along in the lead, came wide entering the stretch, carrying MAPLE TINTS out, then out finished PRINCE PAGAN. The latter made up ground the last quarter mile. MAPLE TINTS forced the early pace, was carried out entering the stretch, then tired. BABE GAIETY raced wide rounding the lower turn. GAY SYMPATHY worked its way forward steadily in the first mile, came gamely through the final half mile, but was not good enough. DRUSUS followed in close attendance oi the pace the first mile, took command rounding the lower turn, then tired in the drive. BROWN HILDA laced well placed throughout and had no mishaps. CAMP CRAIG went evenly. SYNDIC quit badly after setting the pace for a mile and a quarter. STANDOUT could never reach contention. Scratched 34865 Prince Reno, 108; 31770 Fanny Fasterton, 103.
