1 HORSEMEN SKEPTICAL OF j AGUA CALIENTE REVIVAL j 4 SAN BRUNO, Calif., Oct. 14. The report that the Agua Caliente race track would be reopened about Thanksgiving Day of this year by a group of Los Angeles sportsmen was taken with a grain of salt by horsemen now lacing at Tanforan. They point out that regardless of the fact that the Supreme Court of Mexico awarded the tract of land on which the track is built to one Senora Regnir, the buildings and all the fixtures are the property of the Agua Caliente Company, and if the Mexican government saw fit to confiscate that property it would take a very courageous or foolish group of men to step in and take a chance with their money in reopening tho plant when they could be subjected to the same treatment at the hands of the government. Messrs. Seymour and Hinds, who are slated to hend the group seeking to reopen the Mexican track, are not "known to the great majority of turfmen at Tanforan. In fact, not a single person could be found who knew nnything about them. If the Lower California track were reopened it is likely that racing would be held on week-ends only and, with Santa Anita and other California tracks running in opposition, the meeting could never reach the heights it attained when the 00,000 Agua Caliente Handicap was the feature attraction.
