1 EPSOM DOWNS TURF NOTES e and J. L. Oglesby, who is handling two racers for H. C Rumage, Texas breeder and patron of the thoroughbred sport, was an arrival with Witch Lore and Sun Daisy. Others in the Rumagesstable here are under the supervision of T. E. MiUer. W. C. Stroube and A. G. Tarn came in from Corsicana, Texas, to view the mid-week program at Epsom Downs. Mr. Stroube was represented in the Rangers Handicap by Croon, winner or the Speed Handicap on opening day at the Texas Breeders and Racing Association track. Bunty Ann and Disapproval, which were stuck in the draw in their respective races Wednesday, were withdrawn on the recommendation of the track veterinarian, who pronounced them unfit to compete after an examination. Max Viseur was an arrival Wednesday morning with Dug In and Goron, which are the property or Mrs. Max Viseur, and will be campaigned here during the remainder of the meeting. Jack Hodgins, trainer of the Hilltop Farm Stable, has completed arrangements to send his charges to Arlington Downs Saturday. Those in the consignment are My Tommie, Torcheen, Kerry Ways, Blazing Torch, Disapproval and Lassies Son. Monte Preston, trainer for Fred Turner, Jr., breeder and owner of Midland, Texas, returned from a trip to Fort Worth, Texas, where he went to arrange for stable accommodations for the Turner thoroughbreds. Virgil West, trainer for Mrs. Floyd Wests stable, contemplates shipment of his charges to Arlington Downs Sunday. Jockey Howard Hughes, who has been inactive for some time, got back into action Wednesday afternoon at Epsom Downs when he rode Jeu De Bar in the eighth race on the card. Trainer Frank Seremba announced Wednesday morning that he has dispatched one of his aides to Paris, Ky., to arrange for the shipment of the eight yearlings he has at the farm of John T. Ireland, to New Orleans, where they will be broken and prepared for racing next year. The thoroughbreds which performed in the interest of the Three Ds Stock Farm Stable at Epsom Downs were vanned to Arlington Downs, Wednesday night by trainer Dan Deering. After a brief rest they will be prepared for racing at that point.
