REGULA BADDUN, steadied along in nearest pursuit of the pace being established by GOOD DAME, wore down the latter when called upon and drew clear in the last eighth. SHINING JEWEL worked his way up gradually and closed in determined fashion through the stretch. DARK WAR was unable to keep pace early and finished going stoutly. GOOD DAME was under pressure to show the w-ay early and was unable to keep pace in the closing drive. JACKFULL closed an immense gap after leaving the stalls slowly. POLLY B. made up some ground. GRIMALDI took command at once, drew clear in the first eighth and. rated along in front under slight restraint, held ROYAL SHOOT safe. ROYAL SHOOT, well placed and slightly restrained until leaving the back stretch, closed with good courage. JOAN ASBESTOS responded gamely to urging after straightening out in the stretch. SCOTCH BOY trailed until leaving the back stretch, then closed a good gap. TARTARUS was hard ridden while in nearest pursuit of the pace, then faltered in the last quarter mile. ZEVANAID drew clear at the close of the opening three-sixteenths, withstood determined opposition from QUEEN VIC and drew clear in the last sixteenth. QUEEN VIC was prominently placed all the way and. though making a determined effort to go along with the winner, was not quite good enough. TEETER TOTTER, away fast, lacked speed to keep up, moved around on the outside and, tliough looming up in menacing fashion approaching the eighth post, was unable to reach the first two. CARDAMON closed a good gap. MISS TAD was well placed early, but was unable to keep up under pressure. AMQUI was hard ridden throughout, but was unable to keep up. GIFT OF ROSES, well placed, was unable to make up any ground when placed under pressured FAIR TIME, in closest pursuit of the pacemaker, faltered under punishment in the last three-sixteenths. BRIGHT BIRD took command at once, withstood determined early opposition from SAINTED, met a determined bid from TEDDY CARL, drew out and, under slight urging, began to open up a lead that saw him a handy winner. JUST REMEMBER was badly outrun during the first five-eighths, moved up gradually thereafter and, closing with a rush through the stretch, was up in the last strides to wear down LAPLAND for the place. The latter, reserved early, made a game bid to reach the leader, was not good enough and just failed to save the place. SOUND MONEY came gamely in the last quarter mile. LUNA MICA was never a threat. TEDDY CARL faltered badly in the last quarter mile. SAINTED had good speed, but was on the outside throughout, tiring in the last five-sixteenths.
