ARJAG, much the best, quickly dashed to the front to open up a long lead when ready and finished far in advance of the others. QUILLAYUTE showed a good turn of speed and, saving ground, raced well to the finish. BROTHER NIBS made up ground and was. going well at the end. GALPEN was forced to race wide and made a strong move on the outside after entering the stretch. BYRDFORD was done after making a brief bid after entering the stretch. BANG was going well at the end. MISS AMIE got through on the inside of LADY EMISON nearing the stretch turn to open up a good lead when straightened out for home and won easily. LADY EMISON sprinted to the front early and showed a good turn of speed for a half mile, then began to tire. JUDGE PAN ran his race, but was not -good enough for the first two. SCOTS GUARD made up some ground and was going fairly well at the .finish. VIRGINIA MISS made up ground on the inside. ANGONSAN showed a flash of early speed and pulled up lame. SIR WAG was well up from the start and ran his race, but was. not good enough. VICTOR closed ground steadily when urged and was going gamely at the end. BERENDA raced fairly well. VIEWPOINT was shut off while racing in a prominent position on the far turn and was taken up. BON AMOUR pulled up slightly lame. Overweight Runanconard, 3 pounds; Clouds Gift, 1. Won driving; second and third the same; MARGIEBELL, close up from the start, caught EMPRESS HILLS when the latter began to tire and, going strongly to the finish, had enough left to hold JOLITO safe. The latter got through an opening on the inside in the stretch to finish fast and was pressing the winner. HOWDOINO, probably best, was in close quarters- early and lacked speed, but closed much ground. EMPRESS HILLS opened up good lead in the early running, but quit badly in the stretch. VERACIDAD outbroke her rider and could never reach tho leaders. TENTMATE had a rather rough trip. Overweight Empress Hills, 1 pound; Veracidid, 3; Telepathy, 1. FIFTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. PATRIOTIC, displaying fine early speed, soon raced to the front and, hustled along, went gamely to the end to hold CLOUD DOR safe. The latter broke well and, aside from showing an inclination to bear in slightly, had no excuses. BLACK HIGHBROW was caught in close, quarters rounding the far turn and was forced to take up, then came again and might have been best. ILLEANNA lacked early speed, but finished very fast. ROCK X. was never dangerous and could not keep up. LITHOROME was never a serious contender. LT. GREENOCK dropped back right after the start while his rider was obtaining a good hold and had little chance. PETER SAXON showed a fair turn of speed. Start good and slow.
