DICTY STEP, having, good speed, raced along close to TRAVEL AGENT early, rallied stoutly to displace the pacemaker on the stretch turn, was hustled along and drew out rapidly at the end. TRAVEL AGENT gained a short lead in the first quarter mile and saved ground, but was no match for the winner when the real test came. ISKIE broke swiftly, raced with the leaders for three-eighths, then tired. DRIVERIN was unable to reach the leaders at any time, but finished courageously. SIS ORMONT was in tight quarters at the start and failed to menace. BROOMHEATH raced very wide after the first sixteenth. WHINCHAT showed a flash of early speed. TEMPLE FALL, away in the first flight, displaced CAROLINA KID after the first quarter mile, was shaken up strongly when reaching the stretch and drew out gradually at- the end. MY PAULINE raced forwardly all the way and held on gamely to the end, although tiring fast. PRIPO worked her way forwanl on the outside after beginning slowly and finished gamely. ROCK HIGH showed a good effort. HINDU PRINCESS made up considerable ground. TOWN CAR was away sluggishly, then was carried very wide on the stretch turn. MY BUDDY was prominent for five-eighths, then tired and lost ground. CAROLINA KID displayed speed for a half mile, then quit badly. LACONIC, beginning swiftly, sprinted into a long lead on the turn out of the back stretch, saved ground and had something in reserve at the close. BROGAN was sent up fast to gain a forward position when placed to punishment, but could not threaten the winner. NOAJEAN worked her way into contention nearing the stretch and continued willingly to the finish. MILK DIPPER broke slowly and saved ground, but could not menace. ZUMP lacked speed and was never dangerous. MISS HOLLYWOOD was never a factor SOU FENG showed a flash of speed for a half mile. INFANTRY, racing on the outside and close to the leaders, challenged strongly noarine the stretch finished stoutly, overhauled SUNPHANTOM and outstayed COMO NO II? The latter, cased and messed " about on the turn out of the back stretch when caught in close quarters, swung to the outside when straightened into the stretch, then finished full of run and may have been best. SUNPHANTOM was hustled hard to get to the front, but could not keep pace when the real test came. PANTHER CREEK gained stead, y m the last five-sixteenths. The latter opened up a commanding lead, saved ground for the entire trip, but tired suddenly in the last quarter mile. CENTENNIAL bettered his position on the outside, entered a forward position midway of the back stretch and continued to make up ground steadily in the final drive. GREAT SHAKES saved much ground and finished gamely. HOOSIERS PRIDE had no excuses. BAY MEMOR was taken up going to the first turn and was never a factor thereafter. AMGOOD failed to stay. FOREIGN LEGION, away sluggishly, was messed about repeatedly and closed a good gap. WAR ECHOES showed a good effort. SWEET "TONE raced well for seven-eighths, then tired and pulled up sore. THE TRIUMVIR was held safe. SPOTLESS was never dangerous. MALICE could not stay. BOLD PIRATE quit.
