TRAINER P. SALLEES STRING Young Horseman Has Eighteen Head Under His Care at Keeneland Track. LEXINGTON, Ky., March 31. Thomas Piatt, Thomas Carr Piatt and Dr. Charles E. Hagyard, all local owners of breeding establishments near here, are the owners of the eighteen horses being trained at Keeneland by Price Sallee for the coming campaign. Sallee also has a two-year-old for Jouett Shouse, of Washington, D. C, but that youngster likely will be sent east soon. Sallee has taken advantage of the open winter which prevailed in this section and he has his charges well advanced in their training. Consequently many of them likely will be seen under colors during the Keeneland meeting. Collectively they comprise the best looking lot the capable young horseman has yet had under his care. SEVEN OLDER HORSES. Of the seven older horses in the group five are owned by Thomas Piatt, and two, Step Rosey and Pottage, by the younger Piatt. The formers older campaigners are: Mr. Mack, Macawlee, Lina Mac, Flip Flap and Red Chief. For Dr. Hagyard, well-known veterinarian, Sallee has a trio of juveniles: Rude Awakening, a chestnut filly by Upset Cushion; chestnut filly by Mad Hatter Elaine, and a bay filly by St. Germans Golden Melody. Thomas Piatt is the owner of the following two-year-olds: Chestnut colt by Transmute Upset Ann; chestnut gelding by Epi-nard Lady Silvia; chestnut filly by Upset Sun Caris; Miss Alert, chestnut filly by Challenger II. Pensacola; Cornfield, chestnut filly by Transmute Wild Denise; bay colt by Whiskalong Tweeny; Shawana, bay filly by Upset Humanitarian, and Gay Jane, dark bay filly by Transmute Merry Jane.
