PUBLIC AUCTION AT OAKLAWN Sixteen Horses Sold in Paddock For a Total of ,010 Gladys Glad Brings Top Price. HOT SPRINGS, Ark., March 31. The cry of the auctioneer rang through the paddock at Oaklawn Park today as sixteen thoroughbreds were put on the block and sold for a total of ,010. Gladys Glad, a three-year-old bay filly, by Flying Heels Golden Ruth, purchased by R. N. Vestal, brought the top price of the day, ,775. The second high was brought by Chronology, three-year-old chestnut gelding, by Donnacona Gold Baby, bought by Walter Owen for ,475. R. J. "Bob" Gilmore, veteran horseman and former trainer, was the auctioneer. The sales included: Ricciardo, sold by Mrs. V. E. Oden to B. Hardy, 50. Happy Hunter, sold by Eddie Rollins to B. C. Smith, 00.
