SANDE DEPARTING FRIDAY Stagehand, Sceneshifter, and Other Maxwell Howard Horses Destined for Churchill Downs. ARCADIA, Calif., April 6. The stable of Maxwell Howard, leading money winner of the Santa Anita meeting, will depart from the scene of its triumphs Friday morning. " Under the watchful eye of trainer Earl Sande, Stagehand, winner of both the Santa Anita Derby and the Santa Anita Handicap, will be loaded on the Grand Canyon Limited, which leaves Los Angeles at 11:45 a. m. and his destination wiU be Churchill Downs, where he is the future book favorite to cap- ture the historic Kentucky Derby. The remarkable achievements of this great three-year-old during his stay in California will go down in turf history and, barring accidents, this great colt may topple Gallant Fox from the throne of the greatest three-year-old money winner. Along with Stagehand will go Sceneshifter, which will be pointed for several stakes in . the East this coming summer.
