1 JAMAICA TURF NOTES $ s George H. Bull will leave for Saratoga Springs this week to inspect the track and grounds. Jimmy Silvers returned from Sun Valley, Idaho, where he wintered. He became a ski expert during the season at that point. Tom Thorp, presiding steward at the dif-: ferent New England tracks, Tropical and Oriental Parks, was a visitor. He leaves for New England this week. Frank G. Bruen, who was one of Al Levys assistants during the recent Oriental Park meeting, arrived from that point Saturday. George Cassidy, recovering from a minor eye operation, sported smoked glasses during the afternoon. The Falaise Stable, trained by Jack Mc-Pherson, has taken a call on the services of Lester Balaski for the metropolitan season. Alec Gordon arrived at Belmont Park from Goshen, N. Y., with the horses owned by the Goodtime Stable, nom de course of William Cane of that city. H. C. "Doc" Riddle arrived from New Orleans and said that he would secure several horses here to race during the season. Frank Brown, who disposed of his stable last fall, said that he would endeavor to buy several horses to race this year. Carl and Mrs. Ellwanger and their two daughters are visitors. Mrs. Ellwanger is a daughter of Matt Winn. George Coburn arrived from Tropical Park and joined the ranks of the handicappers on the grounds. Among the jockeys here ready to accept mounts are: J. Stout, D. Dubois, L. Sessa, G. Cartwright, J. Ragone, J. Bailey, W. N. Ball, C. Stormes, C. Read, H. Keppler, Paul Keester, A. De Lara, R. Howell, S. Hebert N. Wall, H. Albrecht, R. Merritt, J. Gilbert, A. J. Greco, Wayne Wright, A. Pascuma, T. Mallcy, G. Haines, C. Corbett, M. Corona, R. Donoso, H. Cuiscianna, C. Bianco, H. Harris, C. Kurtsinger, A. Cooper, R. Mon-tello, J. Cartwright, L. Balaski, S. Renick, L. Haas and Tracy Vercher. Jockey Frank Kopel, who was severely injured in a fall at Pimlico last fall, made a hurried trip to the track from his weekly hospital examination and stated that he would resume riding during the summer.
