AURORA PROJECTION SCREEN Enlargements of Photo Finishes to Be Shown Fans. Fox Valley Jockey XDIub Track Completely Equipped New "Tote" Almost Completed. AURORA, 111., April 18. Add the name of the Fox Valley Jockey Club to the list of completely aquipped American race tracks. The final touch to place. Aurora in that category, came today with an announcement by president Robert S. Eddy that the west suburban course would install a projection screen in connection with its photo finish camera. While this is not an innovation to most Chicago racegoers, it is a new feature for Aurora. The screen provides a greatly enlarged picture of each photo finish. This is done by inserting the negative into a projector. This will enable more people, who are vitally interested in a given result, to view the photo finish. In addition, the actual completed photographic prints will be posted. The Aurora camera this year is the Speed-X and will be operated by Jack Thomas. EVERY CONVENIENCE. This, together with the new electric totalizator, completes Auroras complete-ment of innovations and puts it on an equal footing with any American track. Of course, Aurora does not claim that it classes in size with the major tracks. It does believe that it is the most complete for its compactness. The screen will be located under the grandstand. With the "tote" board workers busy underneath the stands installing ticket machines and in the infield completing the 105-foot board; a cleanup squad renovating and painting, landscape gardners beautifying the infield, road workers paing the road to the parking space, and the new parking space on the air field property adjacent to the ground being graded, the Fox Valley course presents a real scene of activity. Add to this the daily morning workouts, activity in the front office, to say nothing of the business of the -acing secretarys department and stable chores, leaves visitors wondering what all this talk about recession means.
