RODNEY PAN, slow to get going, dropped back early, but came with a rush on the outside after leaving the back stretch and, easily taking command an eighth out, won going away. BUSINESS MAN was never far from the pace and held on well. XENOGRA, off poorly and badly outrun to the final quarter, came very fast on the inside at the end. ARTHUR W. was well rated while setting most of the pace, but tired near the end. SKY GREY, off badly, was used up getting into contention and, carried wide on the stretch turn, tired near the end. BLUE SHEETS lacked early speed and was outrun to the stretch, then came to the outside to wear down HASSAN and won narrowly under urging. HASSAN, well rated, moved to the front when ready and, saving ground in the stretch, was well ridden to the finish and barely missed. SWEET BETTY was never far away and, although bearing out slightly in the stretch, raced well to the finish. EL GRANDEE made up ground in the stretch. ODDESA LASS quit badly in the run home. MARIA JULIET was bumped by ODDESA LASS rounding the first .turn, but raced to a contending position on the back stretch, only to tire in the final drive. ANCESTRAL bore out badly during the back stretch run, carrying DR. SPOON with him SI ? Vu takc .c0.mmand, then came aan w the stretch and was gaining on the winner. nn DR. SPOON lost ground by remaining on the outside of ANCESTRAL. GOLDEN NUT, under restraint earlv did not get going until too late LOU MACHADO had early speed. The latter moved up strongly approaching the stretch turn, but failed to carry out her strong rush though going nicely to the finish. DANKE SCHON went to the front at once and, well rated while setting the pace, continued gamely while saving ground when challenged by VALIANT FOX in the stretch and held the latter to a dead heat after a hard drive. SKY GLARE came fast in the stretch. ILLEANNA was in close quarters several times while racing on the inside. RABY RATTLER made a strong move after leaving the back stretch, but tired in the run home.
