Here he was joined by Colonel Jim and reached the half-mile marker in :48. Co-Sport was timed in 1:15 for three-quarters and was taken up steadily after completing the mile in 1:41. The Woolford Farms Lawrin and the Greentree Stables Gangplank indulged in long gallops for their days exercise, while the Milky Way Farms Tiger, injured several days ago during a workout, remained inactive. In the meantime, Tigers stable companion, Mountain Ridge, a popular Derby choice, was at Keeneland to make his 1938 debut in the Ben Ali Handicap. One of the choices for the Clark Handicap, Mrs. E. H. Bartletts Zevson, runner-up to War Admiral in the Widener Challenge Cup at Hialeah Park, went a mile this morning in 1:44, showing an inclination to loaf at times during his trial. Zevson had to be urged slightly by his exercise rider.
