RUN LAFAYETTE WEDNESDAY Speedy Band of Juveniles Meet at Lexington During Mid-Week Oddesa Beulah Eligible. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 23. Some of the speediest juveniles in the Blue .Grass section I will match strides in the first renewal of the Lafayette Stakes, ,500 added, scheduled to serve as the headline attraction of Wednesdays program at Keeneland, which is the eve of the climax of the eleven-day spring session at the local track. A capacity field of two-year-olds are expected to line up before starter Hamilton for the sprint over the Headley course distance, and Oddesa Farms undefeated chestnut filly, Oddesa Beulah looms as the ante-post choice for the Lafayette, but the six times winner this year will be opposed by the j sternest opposition that she has yet been asked to cope with. Among those likely to engage in the sprint I are Col. E. R. Bradleys Bing Bong, Dixianas Likly Lad, Greentree Stables Cherry Jam and Third Degree, Hal Price Headleys Shakealeg, Jack Howards Arabis, Manhas-sett Stables Express, Mrs. Katherine Maxwells Preemptor, Oddesa Farms Oddesa Beulah, W. E. Smiths Miss Sarah, Shandon Farms Kitty Gaffney and Sly Kitty, Tall Trees Farms Bilbouquet, L. W. Ulmers Sis Lottie, Valdina Farms Viragin, C. C. Van Meters Vanscout and J. E. Wideners Ovid. EJPECT SPIRITED CONTEST. From the foregoing eligibles, of which sixty-three were nominated at the time of the closing of the stakes feature, a spirited contest is likely to result and at the same time provide a good line on the ability of the two-year-olds in this territory. Oddesa Beulah copped two races in Florida before moving on to Oaklawn Park, where the daughter of Wise Counsellor added three more scores without a defeat. In her first and only appearance under colors at Keeneland, Oddesa Beulah romped to an easy triumph and in so doing established a new track standard for the Head-ley course distance of forty feet less than four furlongs, which she traversed in :46 flat, clipping one-fifth of a second off the mark made by Shandon Farms Dickerville last year.
