TEA MERCHANT sprinted into a good lead from the Inside position soon after the start and saved ground in the stretch, but tired in the last eighth. CHILNORE was in close quarters on the inside in the back stretch, saved ground and, coming to the outside of TWO EDGED in the stretch, caught the latter an eighth out, but lost when outridden. BRUSTIGERT dropped back after breaking well and never threatened the first two, though finishing fairly well. HIGHMOST could not keep up. RADIO HOUR had speed for a half mile, but tired. TOROLEE, racing gamely from the start, went wide on the stretch turn, but made up ground to catch ROYAL FEAST neai the end and finished well. The latter showed good early speed, but tired near the end. KING SAXON was fractious at the post but broke well from the outside and, after lacking early speed, finished well. REMLE had the most speed, took command early, set the pace under clever rating and withstood the drive gamely to outfinish BOLAMOLA. The latter moved up stoutly after going a half mile, offered a bold bid, but was not good enough. LUCK CHARM, never far back, came to the outside in the stretch, responded gamely to pressure and was getting to the first two at the finish. DAILY NEWS, prominent most of the way, held on gamely in the drive. CANTRIP, slow to settle into stride and on the inside throughout, improved her position, but was never dangerous. EL CHEEVITO tired after reaching a contending position. MADRONE, apparently in need of the race, tired after going prominently for three-quarters, and should benefit by the effort.
