Johr will be shipped from New Orleans April 3, trainer William Johnson has advised Beulah officials. A regular Sunday visitor at Beulah Park is Doug Hoffman, who comes from Dayton to inspect his stable of runners, which includes the veteran Donna Barona. J. R. Nation is in charge of the Hoffman string, due to the fact that business matters in Dayton at present prevent the owner from taking a more active hand in their training. Ohio topped the country last year in the matter of races at distances over a mile and a quarter, a survey reveals. Ohio staged twenty-nine such events, California twenty-five, and New York twenty-one.
