CHURCH JUVENILE PROSPECTS Seven Colts and Five Fillies in Cali- fornians Stable Eight to go to Bay Meadows. SAN BRUNO, Calif., March 31. "We have a well-cushioned mile track, with complete equipment for schooling from the gate, so . why ship early?" Such was the comment by "Woody" Titz gerald, trainer of Norman W. Churchs string, on talking of plans for this spring of the big establishment. There are twelve two-year-olds at North-, way Stud and eight will be vanned to Bay Meadows later, to be stabled along with members of the mature division at the private barn of their owner at the Kyne plant. Fitzgerald had another rhetorical query that impresses quite a bit: "We picked up a well-proportioned yearling filly by Imported Royal Minstrel at the Saratoga Sales for breeding purposes, but she has shown us such foot in trials at the home course, why shouldnt she be included in the racing band to come to Bay Meadows?" So.in the baby lot will be seven youngsters bred by Norman Church and the Royal Minstrel miss. The Churclr-breds are by the up-and-coming sires, Gallant Sir and Plucky Play. The owner of Northway has a wealth of Eclipse blood in his breeding stock and is naturally seeking some additions to the pundits as Herod, to which line Royal Minstrel belongs. The other famous strain of the thoroughbred realm Matchem is found in Plucky Play. , In the Northwav band of two-year-olds are seven colts and five fillies. Judged from conformation, bloodlines, speed in gallops and way of going, there appears to be more than one Sweet Nancy in the latest crop of the noted California sportsman. " ,, , ,
