BROWN FOR COMPTROLLER WASHINGTON, D. C, March 31. Presi dent Roosevelt has selected ex-Senator Fred H. Brown of New Hampshire, a liberal Dem ocrat, for the post of comptroller-general of the United States. Republicans have held that office since the New Deal went into office. The comptroller-general passes on the validity of federal expenditures.
