6 OKAY NARRAGANSETT DATES PAWTUCKET, R. I., March 31 Summer and fall racing dates totalling forty-eight days were granted to the Narragansett Racing Association, Inc., today by Louis C. Gerry, newly appointed state administrator of racing. Mr. Gerry, who has just returned from a business trip in the South, conferred with judge James E. Dooley. president of the association, and later announced that the dates requested for the two meetings had been granted. The summer meeting of thirty days will run from August 14 to September 16. The fall meeting of eighteen days will start October 23 and continue through November 11. With the spring meeting of nineteen days, which opens April 22, already approved, Narragansett Park will have sixty-seven racing days in 1939.
