GRAND PAGEANT was in close quarters and could not get through in the early stages, but moved up on the inside entering the stretch and finished with a rush on the inside in the last eighth. CACKLE TIME raced forwardly all the way while on the outside and had no mishaps. MODERN AGE closed some ground under pressure " through the stretch. PERSUASIVE raced evenly all the way. CYRUS P. finished stoutly under pressure. DISTORT unseated his rider while going to the post, broke slowly and did not menace the leaders at any stage. LYDE was in close quarters going to the far turn. SIR TIME was outrun early. LENVOI could not keep up. STAR STRUCK faltered badly when urged. WALLI had a flash of early speed. BING BONG was sent into command going to the first turn, was rated along steadily and finished on his own courage. GIMPEY showed flashes of speed and closed with a belated rush through the stretch. WINNING STREAK was outrun to the half-mile post, improved his position on the inside, challenged gamely in the stretch, then tired. BARRACA showed good form throughout. BLAZEAROUND made a determined bid when urged and tired at the finish. EBONY BLUE showed early speed while saving ground and had no mishaps. DOROTHY POMP was in close quarters going to the far turn. The latter lacked early speed and, slow to begin, improved her position with a rush and finished fastest of all on the inside. UNSELFISH, close up from the start, but on the outside, was bothered slightly by the winner when he bore out. KNOX-VILLE propped at the start, but moved up with a rush and snowed a good performance. LITTLE MIRACLE moved up fast on the inside entering the stretch, then tired in the final eighth. ROYAL TEDDY raced well up from the start. MORSTEP could not menace the leaders.
