WOWO, rated back of the leaders for three-.eighths, went to the pacemaker rapidly on the turn and, taking the lead readily near the home stretch, drew away into a long lead at the end. WORTHING, saved off the early pace and racing on the outside, responded well when urged find improved his position, but could not reach the winner. STAVKA, lacking early speed, stole through on the inside of the leaders in the last Five-sixteenths and closed gamely. SAY DO was hard urged to take the lead, showed good speed for Five-eighths, then tired. AFTERMATH raced well up, but failed to stay. MILK, going with the pacemaker for half a mile, tired badly. WOODWAAC was outrun. TWO TRICKS did not menace the leaders. HI GOLD, stoutly handled, forced a fast pace while racing with CHIEF COUNSEL, rallied strongly when reaching the stretch, overhauled the pacemaker and had enough left to withstand DARBY DALLAS. The latter, on the outside and going forwardly, closed resolutely under punishment when reaching the stretch. CHIEF COUNSEL showed good speed to set the pace, could not get clear and tired while saving a lot of ground. CENTUPLE, eased back at the start when caught in close quarters, was taken to the outside and closed with a bold rush. MAEBRILLE raced with the leaders to the stretch, lost ground and tired. BRAVE LIGHT, timidly handled, was taken back in the first sixteenth, then could not get into contention. SHIP-MADILLY was unable to get to the leaders and tired gradually. MY CORINNE broke in tight quarters and was outrun. JABIRU and OVER SUPPLY were held safe. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. Clotho, March 22, 19341:105105. DINNER JACKET gained steadily in the closing five-sixteenths after being outpaced early. STEEL KING saved ground throughout after breaking tardily. MUGGINS tired after half a mile. The latter, as usual, outpaced in the first half mile, closed fast under a hard drive. POSTERITY was abreast of the leaders until reaching the stretch, then tired. U-BOAT had to be hard ridden after taking the lead, but bore out badly near the stretch and, losing much ground, tired. HER REIGH broke well, then fell back in the first eighth. BERTILLON dropped back badly in the early running, found room on the inside and, moving up when settled in stride, came strongly to be overhauling the winner steadily at the close. DULCIMER was steadied in front and, shaking off JACK PATCHES, continued gamely to the end. JACK PATCHES was strongly ridden early, challenged mildly, but tired in the last five-sixteenths. TOWN CAR forced a steady pace for three-quarters, then tired under punishment in the final drive. COUNTRY LASS, permitted to drop far out of it and a trailer to the last turn, closed gamely to pass tiring horses at the close. PEEDEEQUE was kept on the inside while going in sluggish fashion. HERMOSILLO outran the others to the first turn, was steadied along nicely until challenged, then withstood a tedious drive willingly to outlast WILLIAM V. The latter was in close pursuit of the winner after five-eighths, was intermittently punished in the last half mile and fought it out courageously. OUR TEDDY raced forwardly under steady pressure and continued willingly to the finish. GOLDEN X. raced prominently on the inside, but failed to improve his position in the late stages. FLAG SONG lacked speed in the early racing and failed to menace when shaken up. CHATTER WRACK and LAST ROMANCE were held safe. PACKAGE does not appear to be in racing condition.
