Clarks Pet Foal Psychic Bid Filly Youngster From Ancona Is Half Sister to Colchis — Dam Goes to Sir Gallahad III. BALTIMORE. Md.. May 8.— Among this years foals bred by Robert Sterling Clark, is a chestnut filly by Psychic Bid. from the Toro mare. Ancona. She is a favorite as she is a half sister to the New York sportsmans Maryland-bred Colchis, recent winner of the Chesapeake Stakes. The half sister to the Happy Argo colt was born at A. B. Hancocks Claiborne Stud. Paris. Ky» She will remain there with her dam. who is to attend the court of Sir Gallahad III. There are other Clark-owned mares, and foals, too, in the Blue Grass country. Three mares and their offspring are at Hancocks nursery, while another, with her produce, is at Lesue Combs II. s Spendthrift Farm, near Lexington. Foals in Kentucky, with their dams, are as follows: AT CLAIBORNE Brown colt, by Balladier — Maypay, by Paper Money. *. Bay colt, by Questionnaire — Aoudaia, by Town Talk. Chestnut filly, by War Admiral — Galaday, by Sir Gallahad III. Chestnut filly, by Psychic Bid — Ancona, by Toro. AT SPENDTHRIFT Bay colt, by Omaha — Karam Sultan, by Kantar. Other recent foals, still at Chester F. Hockleys Winnaford Farm, near Hyde, where they were foaled with the majority of other produce of this season, are a chestnut colt, by Gallant Fox — Sunset II., and a bay filly by Blue Larkspur — Idyll. The latter is a daughter of Sir Gallahad III. — Peroration, she by Clarissimus. This year she will be bred to Swashbuckler, who stands at Janon Fisher, Jr.s The Caves, near Eccleston. The other mare, Sunset II., will also visit a Maryland stallion. She is booked to Discovery, who holds court at Alfred G. Vanderbilts Sagamore Farm, near Glyndon. The five matrons now in Kentucky will visit an equal number of sires. Ancona, as mentioned, goes to Sir Gallahad III., Maypay to Reaping Reward, Aoudaia to Johnstown, Galady to Jamestown and Karam Sultan to Eight Thiity. Other Brood Mares Young Ancona and Galaday are the top producers. Ancona lately made her marie. Galaday, has already produced two staKe winners in Galatea n. and Trois Pistoles. The former is a daughter of Dark Legend and is the only American-bred and owned winner of the English Oaks and One Thousand Guineas. Trois Pistoles was a Stake winner in this country last year. The other mares are comparatively young, their oldest produce being two and three years old. Maypay, imported by Clark from New Zealand, is by Paper Money — Trebelli, by Thrush. She has a two-year-old named Maypop and a yearling chestnut colt, by Hard Tack. Aoudaia, the get of Town Talk — Meridienne, by Bruleur, has as her first foal a two-year-old titled Targe. He is a son of Swashbuckler. Karam Sultan is by Kantar — Friars Lady, by Friar Marcus. Her first foal, a three-year-old, was destroyed. She has a two-year-old bay filly this year, by Mid-day Sun, called Meridionale, and a yearling bay filly, by Bobsleigh.
