Won driving ; second and third the same. MONON LAD took command at the start and, setting all his own pace, withstood several challenges from the determined KIOSK in the first haH mile, then drew out to win by a safe marjin. BLACK HIGHBROW, well back early, closed much ground while racing on the outside rounding the final turn and was closing on the winner at the end. KIOSK, a forw.ird factor for a half mile, macie several attempts to take the lead going down the back stretch and held on gamely to the last eighth, the.i tired. MILLMORE showed good speed to the last sixteenth, then tired. The others were never~serious factors. MOOT QUESTION stumbled and unseated his rider going to the first turn. MY GREY TET, always within striking distance of the leaders, closed strongly between horses entering the «tretch and iinished gamely. PRECO. a forward factor early, forced the pace to the last seventy yards, then dropped back when his rider lost his stirrups, but managed to save the show. C. C. CURTISS raced in spots, but was never a serious threat. WAWMOUR. having pood earlv speed, set the pace to midwav of the stretch, then tired. FIVE FIFTY showed some earlv speed. DANDY MAIDEN, outrun in the early %fages, closed swiftly after reaching the final eighth while racing on the outside and. although carried out in the last seventy yards, got up to dead heat with SALLY I. The latter, in a contending position throughout, rushed up strongly while saving ground in the last eighth to finish on even terms with DANDY MAIDEN for first money. PERHOBO, rushed into a long lead in the first sixteenth, set the pace to midway of the stretch, then bore out badly while tiring and interfered wtih DANDY MAIDEN near the end. MICHIYA was in closest pursuit of the pacemaker to the last eighth, then tired when put to a drive. J. BABY raced evenly. MERRY BID took command soon after the start, set the pace to midway of the stretch, then gave way when the winner challenged, but managed to hold on to save second plate. ARCHED, well back early, closed steadily while saving ground and finished strongly. WICKED TIME raced evenly. HAL CURTIS had some early speed. KATHERINE G. fell going to the first turn and KILOCYCLE, running close behind, fell over her. EARLIANA, rushed into a long lead in the first sixteenth, held her advantage to the final quarter, then tired, but held on to save the place narrowly from the swiftly closing EVIL SPIRIT. The latter, slow to settle into stride, closed strongly after reaching the final quarter. TURNTABLE closed some ground after a slow start. STARLIKE fell after going the first quarter. VALDINA CHIEF took command at once, drew away to a good lead after going the first quarter and, under a well-rated ride, came on to win under mild ureing. MERRY SAXON, always in closest pursuit of the winner, forced the pace throughout, held on gamely in the final drive, but was no match for the winner and just lasted to stall off the fast-closing LINKVILLE. The latter, well back in the early stages, closed much ground in the final quarter. LITTLE GAY raced evenly. JAY HEART had some early speed, then tired. The others were never prominent. WOODEN INDIAN, a forward factor from the start, stayed close to the pace to the back stretch, then the last time around took command, drew away as he pleased rounding the final turn and, although bearing out, came on to win by a wide margin. CATECHISM, far back in the first half, moved up strongly after being steered to the outside rounding the second turn, finished swiftly in the final eighth and got the place narrowly. MISS PITTYPAT raced evenly throughout, but was never able to menace the leaders. PREFER TRANSIT raced up on the inside after going the first half, held on for a quarter, then tired. HONEY SEAT went into the lead soon after the start came, set the pace for the first half, then tired badly. JEFFERSONTOWN, always within striking distance of the pace, moved up strongly on the inside rounding the final turn and, under a drive all through the final eighth, got up to win narrowly. WAYRIEL, well back for a quarter, closed steadily while racing between horses and finished with a ru«h, but was n»t .good enough. HENO LION, always in a contending position, forged to the front rounding the far turn, then held on gamely in the final drive, although tiring. PROMPTO closed some ground in the last quarter. EQUIOVAL was used up in making the earlv pace. WATERCURE showed eood earlv speed, then tired.
