Gansetts Army Relief Day I PAWTUCKET, R. I., May 8.— Tomorrow is Army Relief Day at Narragansett Park and special ceremonies are being held in connection with the occasion. An extra race, the Army Emergency Relief Purse, is seventh on the program. The tracks proceeds of the betting and breakage on this event will go to the Army Relief Fund and Narragansett Racing Association will donate a sum equal to that realized from the betting. It is guaranteed that a minimum of 0,000 will be contributed, and it is probable that a still larger sum will be realized. Maj. Russell H. Sweet, First Army Corps public relations officer, has arranged to have a detail of 75 men present to hold a special flag-raising ceremony in the centerfield before the races. Space for army trucks that will bring the men to Narragansett has been reserved in the parking lots.
