New York Notes AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y.. June 23. Sidney Brown, official at various race courses throughout the country, arrived from New England to witness the running of the Brooklyn Handicap on Saturday. He will leave for Boston the early part of the week. Trainer L. J. Schaefer registered Mrs. L. H. Veitchs Bright Gray and several head belonging to J. J. Mclntyre at the Jamaica course. He will campaign them during the Empire City meeting, which will be run at Jamaica beginning Monday. Owner -trainer Lloyd Murray registered the horses. Powerhouse and Gay Discovery at Jamaica, where he will race them during the Empire City meeting to be held at the Long Island course. Louis Tufano, Jamaica sportsman and contractor, was on hand rooting for his Market Wise, who was a starter in the Brooklyn Handicap at Aqueduct on Saturday. Herbert Bayard Swope, chairman of the New York State Racing Commission, was a visitor at Aqueduct on closing day. W. E. Suggs, who conditions the horses of M. Longobardi and Mrs. .Frances Misasi. registered seven head at Jamaica for the Empire meeting. Jockey Sidney Hebert accepted his first mount of the meeting when he rode Mettlesome in the seventh raj;e on closing day. Jockey Ronnie Nash accepted his first mount at the current meeting when he rode Gorse Hill in the sixth race today.
