Michigan News and Notes DETROIT, Mich., June 26. C. J. Edwards, who conditions the stable of C. A. ONeil, Jr., announced that Cut-loose, Happy Home, Belfry Chimes, Gornil, Rosemere Rose and Marjorie K., have been shipped to Toledo for racing at Fort Miami. Charles Loeffler will handle the ONeil division at Toledo. Jockey Ray Adair accompanied the shipment and will do the riding. Charles Kenney. manager of Coldstream Stud, has taken an option on Spotted Beauty, a two-year-old filly by Man o War — Silver Beauty, from the estate of John Oliver Keene. Kenney left to confer with owners Shaffer and -Howard, but expects to return here soon. Harry C. Richards received Gold Dice and Lady Greenock from Lebanon, Ohio, and the pair is to rave here under the silks of Mrs. R. E. Emminger. Glen L. Wilson, owner and trainer, has been inducted into the armed forces and after his furlough will report for duty at Camp Custer on July 8. R. E. Potts, trainer for the locally-owned Bomar Stable, is to leave for Lexington, Ky., on Sunday to inspect the breeding stock at Mereworth Stud and Keeneland Stud. Grand Slam is standing at the latter nursery. Jockeys J. Weir and Robert Wright packed their tack and left for the Fort Miami track at Toledo. In another sale, C. L. Buckley acquired Viburnum from R. F. Curran and then turned the filly over to A. Ayers for training. Gold Queen, Gold Betty and All Charm, who are trained by L. C. Williams, are to run here in the interests of MacGregor and Alexander. Edward Talbert purchased the three-year-old Rubicon from the estate of the late John Oliver Keene. Terms of the transaction were private. Private fc David Ferguson, Jr., who is on furlough from his Army duties at Greeley, Colo., is visiting his parents who have a stable of horses quartered at the Fair Grounds in charge of Charles Sanborn. Ray Grundy shipped Jayfcee and Don Listo to Toledo for campaigning and purchased the contract on Robert Wright from Eual Wyatt. Wright will do the riding for Grundy at Fort Miami. Clyde Locklear, who formerly trained for Reynolds Bros, of Fort Worth, Texas, has been accepted for service with the Coast Guard and will report for duty immediately.
