WHITE— Sent out Diamond Dick to win the Mata Hari Handicap at Detroit Saturday. * i Cerberus, Tomluta, and Wise Father Hook Up In St. Clair Purse Today DETROIT, Mich., June 26.— The ,000 Ann Arbor Handicap, a six-furlong sprint for three-year-olds and upward, will headline next weeks sport at the Detroit Fair Grounds. The Ann Arbor will have its renewal at the Motor City course next Saturday and racing secretary-handicapper Charles F. Henry expects a good field to answer the bugle for the week-end feature. Also scheduled for decision on the same program will be the ,00 Buddies Handicap, a five one one-half furlongs dash for two-year-old colts and geldings, and the ,000 Roto Handicap, a one mile and a sixteenth test for three-year-olds and upward. Mondays card at the local oval will be featured by the ,000 St. Clair Purse, at a mile and a sixteenth and the ,500 Rosedale Park Purse, a six-furlong event exclusively for three-year-olds. Good fields are entered for these races and the St. Clair attracted Cohen Brothers Cerberus, Grand Stables Baruna, Lt. T. D. Buhls Tomluta, George Strattons Circle S Stable representative, Wise Father, and Abraham Hirschbergs improved Tex Hygro. The Rosedale Park drew the entries of Dixianas Empty Plate, Mrs. H. P. Bonners Star Blen, Peterson and Childs Jois, J. M. Grieve s Flying King, Edward Talberfs Makeshift and R. A. Connells Frisky Spirit. Tuesdays Features The Tuesday program at the Fair Grounds will witness the running of the ,000 Hesse Handicap and the ,500 John W. Smith Handicap. The Hesse will match three-year-olds at one mile and a sixteenth and Smith is scheduled for three-year-olds to meet over the Henry Turf Course at about one mile and an eighth. Secretary Henry expects better than average fields to answer the bugle for both these offerings. On Wednesday, Detroit patrons will see the 1943 renewal of the ,000 Turf and Paddock Club Dinner Purse. Always one of the outstanding attractions at the Woodward Avenue course, this years running of the Dinner Purse undoubtedly will attract a fine band of juveniles to contest at five furlongs. The supporting event on the midweek card will be the ,500 Bay City Purse, a one mile and a sixteenth race for three-year-olds and upward. The sport on Thursday and Friday should prove most interesting for several top attractions are scheduled for decision. The ,000 Windsor Purse, at six furlongs for four-year -olds and upward, and the Aristides Handicap at one mile and a sixteenth for three-year-olds are to share the spotlight on Thursday. The ,000 Palmer Wendell Handicap at six furlongs for horses of like age and the ,500 Flying Colors Handicap, one mile and a sixteenth, for three-year-olds and upward, are the headliners on the Friday card.
