GALLANT HOUR, well placed from the start and coming to the outside I uterine, the stretch, responded to urging and disposed of DARE in the last sixteenth. DARE, hustled early to reach the front, set the pace to the final eighth under occasional urging, but faltered nearing the finish. STELL, slow to begin and outrun the first half, came between horses in the drive and closed with a rush in a good effort. ARID1SICAL could not reach the leaders when put to punishment in the final quarter. CALL TO COLORS was never dangerous and bad no excuses. ACKWELL tired after racing forwardly placed for three eighths. ALAGNES began slowly. CUCKOO MAN was unable to keep up. Claimed— Gallant Hour by A. Lamoureux for ,250; Alagnes by Cary C. PURPLE WRACK, hustled early to reach a contending position, went to the front when settled in the back stretch and. responding to brisk handling, retained his advantage to the finish. APPOINTEE, shuffled back after the start, improved his position steadily after the first three sixteenths, came determinedly during the drive, but was unable to menace the winner. GRAY ROMANCE, off slowly. laced with the leaders after the start and could not better her position under good handling. EVEN TAN closed fast after beginning slowly. HOME AGAIN made a eood bid approaching the stietch and then tired HI POV was done after three eighths. EVER HOPEFUL could not keep up. Won driving: second ai:d third the same. BOLD LUCY, fractious during the post parade, went to the front soon after the start, established a clear lead in the first half, but had to be hard ridden during the stretch run to withstand RODIA. The latter, never far back and well placed from the beginning, came determinedly when put to punishment in the final quarter and closed with a lush, just missing. HI GOLD saved ground while out i u it to the stretch, responded readily when roused for the drive, but was unable to eet to the leaders. LUCIAS SUN raced evenlv and had no excuse. ANYTIME forced the pace during the first half, but had nothing left for the drive. COUNTMEIN was never prominent. PIPLAD raced wide the entire trip. STRAW STACK began slowly and trailed throughout. DIAMOND DICK improved his position steadily in the first three eighths, came thrcugh on the inside for the stretch run and, responding to brisk tiigmg, disposed of GOOD GOING in the closing strides. GOOD GOING, a forward factor from the start, took command when settled in the stretch and continued gamely under punishment, but was unable to withstand the winner. FIRE POWER raced to the front early, set the pace to the stretch and then faltered. SCOTS BILL, slow to begin, eould not threaten when hard urged in the final quarter. WISE COLORS, on the outside throughout, was never dangerous. MON O HASTE broke sluggishly and was never a serious factor. PLAY BCB was done after thiee-sixteenths. JO AGNES had brief early speed. CARELFSS stumbled soon after the start and, recovering under good handling, raced forwardly placed on the outside and then closed gamely. LIKEASNOT went to the front early, set the pace to the final eighth under pressure from AMBER LIGHT and then faltered Hearing the finish. AMBER LIGHT, away well, was much used engaging LIKEASNOT until midway in the stretch, but tired slightly nearing the close. GRANDPAL, slow to begin, w..s going resolutely at the finish. SOME MAN, in hand while saving ground to the half, responded readily when roused leaving the back stretch and, after taking command, withstood a long drive to retain his advantage. VALDINA PAUL, shuffled, back after the start, worked his way up steadily, came between horses approaching the stretch and finished strongly. NO WRINKLES worked his way up steadily and closed stoutly under punishment, giving a good performance. FLORIZAN BEU. never far back, made a good bid in the stretch before faltering during the late stages. BONNIE ANDREW, a sharp factor from the start, made a good bid in the stretch and then tired nearing the finish. DOVE PIE. outrun for three-quarters, came through on the inside for the drive and finished resolutely. SWEEP SWINGER, slow to begin rnd outrun to the stretch, closed a gap in the last quarter. PANBROOM was never dangerous and had no mishaps. BY CONSCRIPT tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. GRASSHOPPER II. began fast, but gave way badly after a half. SAMBOROMBON tired. COL. BOSKY DELL came to the inside for the stretch run. but could not better her position under eood handling. BEBEJA, outrun for three quaiters. closed determinedly on the outside. AMERICA FORE, on the outride after the first half, tired. AMERICAN LAKE made a good bid in the stretch, but tired near the finish.
