Small Fields Again Hold Forth at Fairmount Park Eight Contestants, Including Several Winners, in Main Event COLLINSVILLE, HI., June 29. Small fields once again make up the eight-race card, at Fairmount Park for tomorrows program. Six of the events are. over sprint distances, while two, one including the feature, are over a distance of ground. A field of eight are entered in the one mile and 70 yards sixth race and included in the event are several horses who have triumphed at least once during the current session which comes to a close next Tuesday. Included in the headliner are Devils Peak, Baby Gold, Shining Sea, Uncle Mose, Paducah, Riverlass, Camp Liberty and Commencement. The fifth race is over the six furlongs distance and it brings together a band of better than average platers. Racing secretary Richard A. Leigh was able to bring together seven for the dash. Expected to go postward here are Gay and Light, Forevic, Preco, Phantom Lady, Hot Spark, Galla Mint and Namur. With the departure of numerous stables to other racing points, Leigh has had much difficulty in filling his better grade races. However, he plans another fine day of racing Saturday and is working on conditions for his Monday and Tuesday cards. Two-year-olds will furnish the sport in the. fourth race, a five-furlong dash for maidens and winners of one race. The other distance race is the. seventh at one mile and 70 yards.
