TIDES IN saved ground when outrun to the stretch, came to the inside for the drive and, responding to punishment, disposed of LILSON in the last strides. LILSON, a sharp factor from the start, went to the front after three-eighths, continued gamely- during the stretch run, but could not withstand the winner. CAIRNGORM Taced evenly throughout and had no mishaps. TRIMMED took command early, but faltered after three-eighths. CHANT THRU, never far back, could not threaten when set down for the drive. FAST TEMPO, awav very slowly, was hustled to reach serious contention and tired during the. final quarter. DEFENSE STAMP raced in spots. CUTE EYE had brief early speed. JOPIER. forwardly placed and well ridden, took command entering the stretch, withstood a brisk drive and held MATTIE SUE safe. The latter, never far back and on the inside, came determinedly when roused during the stretch run, but could not overhaul the winner, although easily best of the others. GREENOCK FLAME took command at once, made the pace to the stretch under pressure from CAROLINE F., but failed to stay in the drive. FAIRLY FLY went wide on the final turn and then finished Strongly after being straightened up. CAROLINE F. forced the pace to the stretch and then drifted out badly while tiring. MISTY LADY bore out badlv on the final turn and could not threaten. FLYING NED could not keep up. SHORT CAKE, on the outside throughout, never was .dangerous. RING MASTER moved up on the turn, but failed to stay during the late- stages. NIGHT BOMBER tired during the stretch run. ROUND CLOCK began fast and forced the pace to the half, then gave wav. SIR KID, outrun early, came to the outside for the drive and finished strongly under punishment. BRIGHT ARC raced evenly and had no excuse. ROUGH COMMAND forced the pace during the first half, but faltered during the drive. TRACELETTE had no excuse. TILTING was outrun.
