HEMLOCK slipped through on the inside rounding the turn, responded to pressure and outfinished GERHAM while racing on the rail. FIRST SENTRY moved into contention with a rush, came between horses entering the stretch, wore down GERHAM and just failed to last. The latter showed good speed, was under steady urging to maintain a slight advantage, only to falter in the final sixteenth. LARRY D. was shuffled back on the turn entering the stretch, then closed with a good effort. WAIT FOR ME, outrun early, made up ground in the late stages. STEEPLE was unable to keep up. CAMBRIDGE FAIR broke alertly, then raced evenly. GUNNISON showed brief speed. LEVENTIA was devoid of speed. HASHER was outrun. FALSELY, under light urging in the backstretch while following the pace closely, moved up entering the far turn, caught the leader when straightened in the stretch and drew out to win with speed in reserve. SPEED UP, forwardly placed on the inside, was taken to the outside in the stretch and finished with a good effort. COCOGRANDE was sprinted into a commanding lead soon after the beginning and, steadied along to hold the lead to the head of the stretch, faltered. MODEL LADY closed fast on the inside. NONYAW had no mishap. AMPERAGE was unable to improve under vigorous handling. HIGH FOX raced evenly. BULLDINGER was devoid of speed. The others were outrun. HEYORTA worked way up on the outside nearing the far turn, came between horses entering the stretch and outfinished LADYS ORPHAN. The latter, prominently placed, was taken out from the rail entering the stretch, responded to pressure and just failed to get up. EASY QUERO, a forward factor, disposed of DON CHANCE entering the stretch, then faltered in the final sixteenth. CREEPIN closed willingly under steady pressure. FAST TEMPO quit after showing early speed. CECR0PS was under urging to reach the leaders in the first quarter, then raced evenly when outrun. KATHY raced evenly. ABREG0 was unable to reach serious contention under urging. DON CHANCE was unable to shake off FAST TEMPO in the first quarter, came again on the turn and drew clear, then quit. ASK AUNT ADA was forwardly placed when she started to bear out on the turn, the rider slid off, then fell heavily when she straightened out. Scratched— 87865 Midnight Ride, 109. COLD BLAST was sent up on the outside rounding the first turn, was steered to the inside when straightened in the backstretch, slipped through on the rail rounding the far turn and drew out to win as rider pleased. JINGLE JANGLE, forwardly placed on the outside, came to the inside in the drive and raced evenly through the final furlong. MULLINGAR worked way up on the outside, came between horses in the final furlong and closed willingly. QUEEN ISABELLA steadily improved her position from a slow beginning. DRUIDS ECHO, prominently placed, failed to improve under light urging after dropping back in the backstretch ROSY MORN was unable to keep up. LINWOOD WAG had no mishap. JELWELL was a forward factor and had no excuses. MAGIC HEELS assumed command rounding the turn into the backstretch, drew intoa long lead rounding the far turn, then weakened entering the stretch. SOLLURE, within striking distance early, saved ground entering the stretch while under pressure, but was unable to menace the leader. WEATHERITE improved position steadily on the outside, came between horses entering the final furlong and closed with good energy. ABOYNE was going well at the end. MAGDALA was unable to keep up. YAVAPAI tired steadily after a quarter. HEARTH BROOM was unable to threaten under urging. GAY GINO raced evenly. WISE TIMMIE saved ground entering the backstretch, was under light urging to remain close to the pace, moved up when ready to assume command nearing the quarter post, drew clear and was under vigorous handling to hold OXFORD BLUE. The latter responded to urging leaving the backstretch, moved up on the outside rounding the turn and made a determined bid through the final furlong. SAVING was hustled into command at the start, was steadied along while maintaining a clear lead to the middle of the far turn, then faltered. MAEQUEL was unable to reach the leaders under urging. HILL SUN, sent up on the inside rounding the final turn, assumed command for a short distance, then held on gamely. 0X1 E was sprinted into command at once, was steadied along to the final turn, then weakened slightly under urging.
