RANCOR was quick to begin and a forward factor all the way, responded to urging in the final furlong, then shook off opposition and drew clear. COLORSET was placed under pressure in the final stages and closed stoutly. PICARDY BELLE, on the outside from the beginning, showed a good effort. AROUND TOWN was well up all the way. RANIES CHOICE showed speed, but was bearing out and carried the others with him. THE BAGEL swerved at the beginning and dropped back. DETECTION improved his position steadily, moved up on the outside of the leaders entering the stretch, was bumped by BLUE BADGE and forced out, then finished with good courage. SCHOOL TIE was under pressure in the stretc hand, blocked nearing the final furlong, was steered to the inside for clear racing room. BLUE BADGE was a prominent factor throughout, overcame interference from KILGOBBIN after rounding the stretch turn and tired when swerved. KILGOBBIN had early speed, swerved rounding the stretch turn and faltered. SINGING LIGHT had early speed. DARBY DOODIT was slow to begin. SALERNO was as good as left. BEYOND REACH quit badly. TATERS could not keep up. A claim of foul was lodged against the winner, but was not allowed.
