George Senn Named Placing Judge for Fairmount Meet FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., May 23. — Thomas J. Brown, steward representing the Illinois Racing Board at Fair-mount Park, announced today that he received confirmation of the appointment of George Senn, as placing judge to take the place of Al Pendleton who died following the close of the fall meeting here last year. Senn, who has been ill for many years, was forced to sell his horses because of his health and now that he is on the improve has accepted the position offered him by the Fairmount Park Jockey Club. Up to a dozen years ago Senn owned and trained his own horses and he will be remembered as seldom having a stable of less than 10 runners. Other officials passed on by the Illinois Racing Board are Frederic Crafton and James P. Gruber who will serve as stewards with Brown; Clifford V. Abbo and Teague Pichon who are the other placing judges with Senn, Ralph Stubbs clerk of the scales and C. H. McMillan, the starter. The racing secretary will be J. J. Klu-cina; the patrol judges, Jack Locklear. Art Maher and Ray Douglass. L. O. Delon-chaw will again serve as paddock judge, William Michael as veterinarian for the Illinois Racing Board and L. J. Stortz as veterinarian appointed by the Fairmount Park Jockey Club. The mutuel department will be under the direction of Matthew L. Welch.
