Happy Issue Mated March 13; May Next Start in Sequoia HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., May 23. — It is not a rarity that mares who have been bred return to the races for a brief time before being retired to give their attention to impending motherhood, but the Happy Stables Happy Issue may be the only one, or at least one of a very few who, after being mated, returned to competition to win a stake. This daughter of Bow to Me who Tuesday won Hollywood Parks 5,000 Premiere Handicap, was bred on March 13 to Bull Reigh. Charles Pinon, who trains the mare, was delighted with her performance and said that inasmuch as she came out of that race little the worse for wear, she may be counted a certain starter in the 5,000 Sequoia Handicap here on Saturday. Pinon also stated that Happy Issue will be made eligible for the 00,000 Hollywood Gold Cup which she won two years ago.
