Governor Requests Lokar To Resign From Commission COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 12.— Gov. Thomas Herbert yesterday announced that he had requested John Lokar to resign as chairman and as a member of the state racing commission. Herbert said that he has written Lokar stating he regarded it "inadvisable for him Lokar to remain on the commission in view of the disclosures in connection with the department of liquor control." Lokar was appointed to the commission by the outgoing governor, Prank J. Lausche, last January. Prior to that Lokar was Lausche s secretary. Since Lausche left office, his regime has been "under fire" by the new Republican administration for the wholesale issuance of liquor licenses. The investigation has linked Lokar as being "close to the situation."
