PHAR MON, never far back, went to the front near the stretch and retained his advantage without need of urging. LOUJAC, slow to begin and outrun to the stretch, finished with a rush, but could not overtake the winner. CIRCUS CLOWN, forwardly placed from the beginning, made a good bid entering the stretch, then faltered. GEE WHIZ, outrun to the final quarter, came out for the drive and finished very fast under urging. TIGER FLASH, bumped in the stretch, failed to threaten thereafter. HYPOSTYLE gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. SCIPIO had a rough trip. BIG DITCH was outrun. LENOIL could not keep up after showing early speed. SYLS BOBBY, in hand while saving ground to the stretch, came out for the drive, responded to vigorous handling and disposed of BIG BROTHER in the last strides. The latter went to the front early, made the pace under good rating and held on well through the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. BERT engaged BIG BROTHER until inside the stretch, then quit. CHOPPY SEA began slowly. CASTEL BEAU was outrun. WATCH ANDY stumbled after the start, recovered and then raced well to the upper turn before tiring. TELLMEHOW was done early. Scratched— 223013 Plover Brand, 111. Overweight— Tellmehow, 1 pound. ALPINE KING, outrun early, was sent to the outside for the stretch run, but could not menace the leaders. BAY ACRE was outrun. SPEEDY SHOW, crowded back during the drive, could not better her position. HEDGE HOPPER gave way after racing prominently to the final furlong. THE MINTER tired after racing well the to stretch.
