AIRY, slow to settle in best stride, responded readily when roused and had speed in reserve at the end. ITSABET disposed of SMAJOR to take a clear lead on the turn and held on gamely, but was no match for the winner. SMAJOR weakened steadily when unable to take the early lead. JEAN JEAN moved menacingly nearing the stretch and flattened out. STAR 0 SEA was unable to keep up early. TANDIS tired after showing early speed. MARION CLARKE was in close quarters on the inside and showed a fair race. TERMINAL LEAVE was never a factor. BILL ROSE, steadied when outrun by YASSAH BOSS early, moved through on the inside entering the stretch and drew clear to win rather easily. YASSAH BOSS set the pace to the stretch and held on fairly well, but could not resist the winner. IN SUSPENSE moved menacingly leaving the turn and weakened slightly in the final test. JOHNNIE C. made up ground gradually. MAJOR STONE failed to rally after being a forward factor early. OWN REWARD caught tired horses through the stretch. CY DART pressed the pace to the early stretch, displaced PAPPY BOY and held on gamely while lasting over SUNDAY KNIGHT. The latter was steadied around the turn, ran to the outside fence and just failed to get up. PAPPY BOY held a commanding lead until entering the stretch and weakened. BROWN RUIN, saving ground while outrun for a half mile, closed with good energy. SEA PILOT weakened. COLONEL G0VANS was a forward factor to the stretch and weakened. ABE, in close attendance to the pace from the beginning, responded to strong pressure through the stretch and outfinished FALSELY. The latter, always prominent, dropped back slightly entering the stretch, then came again to fight it out gamely. TEDIOUS MISS raced within striking distance of the leaders from the start and closed willingly. FLYSOLATE, badly outrun for a half mile, closed with a belated rush. EVEN BREAK, slow to reach best stride, was moving nicely on the outside turning for home, but was prevented from doing his best when he lugged in throughout the stretch run. PINE LAKE should improve. MY ANGELA, steadied early, moved boldly entering the stretch then flattened out badly. STANLEY quit badly after setting the pace to inside the furlong pole. BELLE MOOSE was through early. PEP WELL, under steadying restraint through the first half mile, rallied nicely between horses during the stretch run and outfinished AIR PATROL. The latter was slower than usual to reach best stride, improved his position impressively, but could not outgame PEP WELL. RIPPEY and SEA SNACK alternated in setting and pressing the pace, but faltered in the final furlong. KITCHEN POLICE weakened after showing good early speed. BLUE YONDER showed a fair effort and should improve. SOLLURE and HAMMER-LOCK were outrun. SCHOLARSHIP quit badly after attempting to race with the early pace. MARCH CHICK, under restraint while forwardly placed from the start, moved with SERVICE PILOT while going by the leaders and proved best 1.1 the drive. SERVICE PILOT rallied well when asked for his best, but could not withstand the winners closing surge. MISS WAR was well rated while setting the pace, but was not good enough. BRIGHT ARGOSY saved ground while rallying leaving the backstretch, then weakened after looming a serious threat in the early stretch. CAT BRIDGE saved ground early and failed to rally. FOURTH ESTATE weakened slightly after racing in the first flight throughout. DOVE SHOOT rallied mildly. COPY BOY caught tired horses. PATTY KNOT tired.
