STEEPLE, forwardly placed on the outside, moved abreast STEPASTIT nearing the furlong pole, responded to pressure to gain command and drew out. STEPASTIT disposed of PEACE TERMS after a quarter, drew clear and saved ground, but was no match for the winner. GOLDEN GINO was caught in close quarters at the start, was not hustled until nearing the far turn and closed gamely on the outside. SIGNAL TIME, well up, made a determined bid entering the stretch, then faltered. SOME SWEEP was not good enough. BECKY G. raced evenly. POKER FACE showed nothing PEACE TERMS was not persevered with when he weakened. NOW WATCH had brief speed. LORD VATOUT, under light restraint while kept within striking distance of the pace, moved through on the inside to gain position entering the stretch, then came to the outside of ZACAMAZUMA while gaining the lead and was drawing out. The latter opened a comfortable lead in the first quarter, was steadied along under light restraint, but was unable to stave off the winner. CHARTER MEMBER slipped through on the inside to finish well. JR. OSULLIVAN lost ground on the final turn. TOP BOOTS was not good enough. AMPERAGE was unable to keep up. NIGHT EDITOR lacked early speed. LEO L. showed nothing. The others were outrun. MUSIC MISS, forwardly placed under pressure, challenged when straightened for the drive, but was not good enough. PLEASEMENOW forced the early pace, then weakened slightly. ROYAL PIGEON had no excuse. LADY CARRIE weakened under pressure in the final furlong. BRONZACA closed gamely from a slow beginning. GAL DU was never a serious factor. FALL GAL showed nothing. SOLID SENDER, forwardly placed under light restraint, saved ground entering the stretch, was steered to the outside for the drive and closed gamely. NIGHT BOMBER improved position steadily, but was not good enough. WILL MARKHAM, slow to settle in stride, made a game run through the stretch. INNATE, well up throughout, had no excuse. ALFRED STUART flattened out in the drive. SUN CLOCK failed to rally when set down. JET PLANE was never a factor. CO-LAWYER was through early. SUNSET BAY bled and was eased through the stretch. CHANCE PLAYER, showing speed from the beginning, was taken back off the pace when straightened in the backstretch, raced close to the leader until straightening for the drive, rallied when set down and outfinished THEATRICAL BOY. The latter, well up on the outside, moved with ease leaving the backstretch and drew abreast the leader nearing the sixteenth pole, then faltered. WHIFFLETREE was sent along at a fast clip under light urging, then weakened in the final quarter. Y GUN closed gamely. JOLLY SOUL was outrun. SINGULAR had no excuse. BEL-RATE, in hand while within striking distance, moved up on the inside as the leaders went wide entering the stretch, assumed command and was kept going under steady pressure. VALIENTE assumed command at once, was under steadying restraint while setting the pace, raced wide leaving the quarter pole, but was straightened before losing command and failed to respond to late pressure. BULL TAR moved close-to the leader leaving the backstretch, was carried wide and failed to rally. DONNAS ACE lost all chance when he dwelt at the start. YELLOW HORNET moved into contention after a half mile and made a weak bid entering the stretch, then weakened. HIDDEN ACE was well up and had no excuse. BUCK SERGEANT went evenly.
