PAPPY BOY showed his usual early speed and tired. ROYAL FAVOR weakened in the final test. TRELAWNY caught tired horses. LARKAROUND weakened after showing brief speed. REFLEX ARC, always forwardly placed and not hurried early, assumed command in the early stretch and lasted over HAPPY HOODLUM. The latter moved into contention boldly entering the stretch and weakened slightly, then came again under extreme pressure. WEE BETHY, steadied within easy striking distance of the leader, attained a clear lead on the final turn and drifted out slightly while weakening. MAJOR STONE, far back early and slow to rally, closed some ground. JOHNNIE C. moved menacingly after a half mile and tired. PRETTY NYMPH weakened. YASSAH BOSS quit badly after setting the pace. WAR COIN weakened gradually. ASTRAL caught tired horses. GEORGIE V. showed nothing. SALVO was never a serious factor and went out a mile in 1:41. LAY-AWAY had very brief speed. CAT BRIDGE was allowed to trail the field through the first half mile, moved to the lead boldly and was under mild hand riding through the final furlong. DARBY DIEPPE assumed command along the inside approaching the half-mile pole, but was no match for the winner. RINGTHEBELL sprinted into a commanding early lead and quit when challenged. LOYAL LEGION, steadied after being hustled into a forward position early, assumed command midway of the final turn and drew clear to win as his rider pleased. MITYME, steadied when unable to outrun REPAND and LOYAL LEGION to the first turn, moved menacingly nearing the stretch, but was no match. CAMARGO lacked speed early and caught tired horses. REPAND set the pace for more than six furlongs and quit badly. ROYAL GOVERNOR was unable to reach contention early, moved menacingly on the inside leaving the backstretch and weakened thereafter. MASTERDOM had speed in spots while having a rough trip and closed full of run. SUBDUE raced prominently placed and tired. GAY VENTURE was always prominent, but was not good enough. MAEQUEL faltered. ELEVENTH HOUR was badly outrun from the beginning. HISTRIONIC was knocked back soon after the start, recovered quickly to reach the lead between calls, then quit badly. EXPLORATION set the pace under stout restraint and held on gamely when challenged. BONRIDGE failed tc rally under pressure and came back a trifle lame. LONGVALLEE was through after the first mile. AMERICAN WOLF was within striking distance while being reserved, rallied well in the center of the track through the stretch and wore down GREY STEEL. The latter wore down MAE CASE, but was unable to resist the winner in the final stages. BLUE ASTER, slow to reach best stride, worked way into contention gradually and closed willingly. BLUE-SWEEP was a forward factor along the inside and failed to rally. MAE CASE was hard held while setting the pace and flattened out when set down for the drive. FLYSOLATE had no mishap.
