AIR CURRENT obtained a clear lead before going a quarter, was steadied to the stretch, where he increased his advantage, then withstood OBELISK under brisk handling. OBELISK, within easy striking distance on the outside, came gamely in the drive while drifting out, but could not reach the winner. DIRECTOR, away slowly and forced to come around the field, closed fast in the final furlong. GRAFAIRCHAN did not respond for the drive. SERGEANT BILL, unable to outsprint AIR CURRENT, held on well to midway of the stretch, then quit. BOLO PRINCE never threatened. Scratched- 18640 Just Daylight, 110; 22471 Kerrygator, 121. MCCOSH disposed of HAZEL OMAE early, easily drew out to a commanding lead and won as his rider pleased. RICH UNCLE, prominently placed from the beginning, responded to urging in the drive and bested the others. FRANCIE made a mild bid rounding the final turn, then weakened. SPRING DUN made up some ground from a slow beginning. OZZIE never threatened. HAZEL OMAE could not outrun MCCOSH and quit. Won driving; second and third the same. JACKS CREEK, racing in improved fashion, was eased back when headed by MR. KILROY, responded to urging in the drive and held safe KNIGHTS HILL. The latter, prominently placed from the start, closed well through the stretch, despite bearing out. MR. KILROY rushed to the front, opened a clear lead entering the stretch, then faltered. T0RELL0, taken between horses from a slow beginning, finished well in a good effort. GOOD LOOK finished fast. LUCKY CHAMP weakened. MR. DEL never threatened. WE HOPE quit when punished. GLIDER PILOT, steadied within striking distance early, came around the leaders entering the stretch, then swerved to the rail and lasted under urging. TURF, prominently placed while racing between horses, responded willingly for the drive and bested MISS LELIA H. The latter worked her way forward on the outside and finished well. RHODELIN could not reach the lead under a hustling ride and weakened. SURIBACHI was outrun. IRISH PENNANT never threatened. ELKT0NIA KING had good speed for a half mile. TANGLED MISS crossed her field sharply at the start and set a fast pace to the stretch, then quit badly. ARIEL ACE opened a clear lead soon after the start, increased his advantage under urging rounding the final turn and won with something left. SHAWS PRIDE, prominently placed throughout, raced evenly and well and lasted to best JACKS JILL. The latter raced forwardly on the inside, dropped back slightly on the final turn, then came again near the finish. NICKEY W., away slowly, worked his way forward between horses and finished well. DIAMOND DICK raced in closest pursuit of ARIEL ACE for a half mile, then faltered. PILATES MISS had no mishap. HARVARD SQUARE raced on the inside. TIDY SUM had early speed. SHUT EYE was outrun. BOB MURPHY, steadied within striking distance on the outside, closed steadily while being carried slightly wide by FAY FOO in the drive, then could not menace the winner. FAY FOO, taken in hand when unable to reach the lead, drifted out through the stretch and held on well. SKYLARK made a bold move midway of the backstretch, then weakened. BODENS PAL, reserved while outrun for a half, picked up his field on the outside and took command under pressure, then was taken in hand for the finish. PLOVER BRAND raced in closest pursuit of KENDOR, was hard ridden through the stretch and finished well. KENDOR opened a commanding lead at once, set the pace to inside the stretch, then faltered. DOUBLE FEATURE, taken in hand and shuffled back at the start, came extremely wide in the drive and could not get up. BELLEVUE LADY was outrun. CHOPPY SEA never threatened.
