MACKINAW was a prominent factor from the begining, responded to pressure in the stretch run, but bore in slightly and held on well. DONNA GRACE was placed under pressure and finished with a rush on the outside. MERRY TUDOR was gaining fast on the inside at the end. ONE BELL was well up all the way, but was in close quarters between the leaders nearing the finish. QUIBBLE, on the inside of the leaders, faltered near the finish. SILVER DRIFT raced well. MAIZE, on the inside, tired nearing the finish. SHIMMER showed an even effort. QUICK AIM had a flash of early speed. JERSEY ISLE was away slowly. Scratched— 22652 Back Interest, 115. WORD OF HONOR swerved sharply in the early stages and finished well. NOBLE HERO was slow to begin. QUICKSET could not keep up. ETERNAL LARK, on the inside, was never formidable. BRABANCON was sent through on the inside for the stretch run, made a determined bid and finished well. STAGE KID was outrun in the early stages, responded when urged in the stretch run and outfinished JET PILOT. The latter forced a fast early pace, disposed of OWNERS CHOICE, then quit in the final furlong. BLUE BORDER was sent up fast rounding the far turn, was roused sharply nearing the stretch turn, then dropped back when bumped. OWNERS CHOICE quit badly after six furlongs.
