Loot and Gay Courier Prevail In Split Feature at Suffolk SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 1. — Honeywell Farms Loot and Wedgemere Farms Gay Courier won the fourth and fifth races, respectively at Suffolk Downs this afternoon in a split allowance test at one mile and 70 yards. The usual mid-week crowd numbering 13,192 was on hand. light fog covered the distant horizon but failed to hamper the vision of the patrons. Loots triumph was accomplished in easy style when he came to the end of the test four lengths before Bar-Sue Stables Kentucky Red, with R. B. Carrolls Swell Guy another three lengths back. Ridden by Glenn Smith, Loot afforded the veteran to score his initial riding score in his comeback trial. Gay Courrier, ridden by Earl Gross, was a driving winner by a length and one-half over Honeywell Farms Sandlot. The favored Goldfield, owned by the Arnold Stuart stable, could do no better than finish third in the field of eight.
