TAKEITOFF outsprinted her opposition while under energetic handling in the first eighth, drew into a long lead while under light restraint and won as if much the best. JUMP FOR JOY was under strong handling much of the way and, while improving her position steadily, was unable to menace the top onealthough best of the others. SEA PRINCESS made up some ground in the last quarter. LA GANADORA raced on the inside throughout and was never a serious threat. RAMILLY was between horses much of the way in an even effort. BUCKIEGIRL could not keep up. ONWARD MARCH gave way suddenly after showing good speed to the final furlong. APOCAPE raced prominently in the early part. FOXY JACK, hard held for the first half, moved willingly to the leaders when roused and, while racing wide, wrested command in the early stretch and gradually drew out under a brisk hand ride. ALICE SIMMS was never a great distance backj also raced a trifle wide and, after making a determined bid inside the last quarter, flattened out under a sustained drive. HAPPY ALL pressed the early pace in hand, displaced COL. WIGGINS when put to pressure on the stretch turn, but had nothing left when the real test came. ROSE CANYON made up some ground after being badly outrun. COL. WIGGINS tired from his early efforts. The others never threatened. FAIR CRYSTAL had" good speed from the beginning, jumped cleanly, disposed of his opposition under pressure nearing the final jump and drew well clear while being ridden out. FIREBET, slow to settle into his best stride, rallied after the sixth hurddle to move boldly on the leaders in the late stages, but was not good enough. STRATEGY moved up strongly after the third hurdle to race with the top one to the last jump, where he failed to rally when roused for his best effort. CROWS BILL made up ground fast in the late stages after a slow beginning. CHALET DOR improved his position steadily after the seventh hurdle. BOLD MATE made a mild rally nearing the seventh hurdle, but had nothing left when the real test came. FALL GUY was through early. STAMPEDE II. could not keep up. OFF AT 2:571 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start poor from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. HANKIE, fractious at the gate prior to the start, was finally taken to the outside for the break and, when the start came, broke to the inside, quickly recovered and, while showing good speed, was bearing in as he took command leaving the backstretch, was put to pressure on the stretch turn and commenced bearing in again, but held his advantage, was disqualified for interference and1 placed last. ORBIT pressed the pace in hand to the final quarter, where under pressure he moved willingly to the pacemaker, was in close quarters when the top one came over in the early stretch and failed to rally when clear. BLACK ROVER, unprepared at the start, was badly outrun to the stretch, where he found racing room between horses when roused and finished full of run. SUMMER SUN was well placed from the beginning, raced on the outside much of the way and lacked a closing rally. SOLID TRICK was shuffled back on the inside soon after the break and lost all chance. UP BEAT outsprinted his field from the beginning, was bearing in through the first quarter and, under a strong ride, was best in a stiff drive. ISTAN rushed up fast while under energetic handling in the early stages, raced true and was getting to the winner at the end. PIPETTE raced with the top one for the first five-eighths, then weakened under punishment. BUZFUZ, slow to settle into his best stride, rallied gamely under pressure while bearing out in the late stages, but was not good enough. PINEBLOOM raced between horses in an even effort. RIPPEY, sluggish in the early stages, was forced to come to the outside when blocked nearing the first quarter and failed to rally when clear. MACBETH was outrun. KING RHYMER could not keep up. CODE LIGHT wrested command from the inside in the run down the backstretch, drew out under light restraint and, under extreme pressure through the stretch, stalled off HALS PAL. The latter was never a great distance back, raced on the outside throughout, was roused nearing the final quarter to move willingly to the leader, but hung under strong handling in the closing strides. PROFANO saved ground while being steadied along to the stretch where, under punishment, he was unable to reach the top ones. MR. McGREGOR had no apparent mishap in an even performance. ROMAN RUNNER improved his position steadily while saving ground to the final quarter, where he was brought out for the drive, but had nothing left. ELASTIC was used up early. MR.
