Johnston; bred by A. L. Birch. WENT TO P0ST-2:31. OFF AT 2:324 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate for all but PINE GROVE. Won driving; second and third the same. GOOD HEAVENS, away alertly, was kept in a forward position to the stretch, assumed command when settled for the drive and held on willingly under punishment to withstand HOT CHOCOLATE. The latter, a keen factor from the start, reached the lead nearing the stretch, finished determinedly, but could not overtake the winner, although easily best of the others. WHAT A DAY gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. SCENE lacked early speed and failed to rally when set down for the drive. GINKAK was outrun. NO PEACE had early speed. BENNINGTON went to the front at once, held a clear lead when settled in the stretch and increased the advantage without need of urging. DIXIE FLYER, forwardly placed throughout, closed determinedly under punishment but could not menace the winner. ENCASED, slow to begin and on the outside throughout, failed to respond when set down in the drive. BEES DREAM engaged BENNINGTON to the final furlong, then weakened. DIS HASH was outrun. LUSTY never was prominent. COVEY RIDGE was far back throughout. LAREDO raced greenly. EXTORTION could not keep up. BELL COLLECTOR was never a serious factor. HENNY PENNY went to the front immediately, engaged DEAR DOGGIE for three-eighths, drew clear and easily held BOLD LADY safe. The latter, never far back and saving ground, finished willingly under urging, but could not threaten the winner. MISWEET raced evenly to the stretch and closed strongly under brisk handling. LEA FLAG raced wide and failed to rally when set down in the drive. DEAR DOGGIE gave way after engaging HENNY PENNY to the stretch. PERE MARKETTE was never a serious factor. MACHAIRAN showed nothing. FINE ART, a keen factor from the start, gave way to GROWING UP nearing the stretch, then came again under brisk urging and wore down the latter during the last sixteenth. GROWING UP saved ground while racing forwardly placed to the stretch, assumed command and held on resolutely, but was not good enough for the winner, although easily best of the others. BALLADETTE raced well and had no mishap. CONVAIR, forced wide entering the stretch, failed to rally when straightened for the drive. BOWLED OVER displayed early speed, but bore out badly after leaving the backstretch and lost all chance. FLEET FACTOR raced greenly. Overweight— Fleet Factor, 2 pounds. LOVELY NYMPH was hustled to the front at once, made the pace to the stretch under occasional urging, but could not hold the winner. SUFFAZON raced evenly and had no I mishap. FISH FRY was outrun. WATCH SUSAN lacked early speed. PIPER was done early. MR. TUCK tired after racing well for a half. YOU ARE YOU gave way after displaying early speed. WOOLLARDS PET assumed command at the start, made the pace until inside the stretch, but was unable to hold the winner. OLD BET began sluggishly. WISE SUN raced well to the stretch, then weakened. THE PROBLEM, on the outside throughout, could not keep up. HIMMELEE was outrun. TRANCE SLEEPER never was a serious factor. HIS GRACE began poorly. SKY TRAIN disliked the turf course and was far back throughout. ANTARES, LAME DURING THE POST PARADE, WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED AND ALL WAGERS ON HIM WERE REFUNDED.
