Carrara Marble, Eagle River Work Six Furlongs in 1:12 WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, HI., June 1.— A fast strip here this morning produced several sparkling workouts, Carrara Marble and Eagle River, both owned by Helen S. Reineman, were asked to go six furlongs in company by their-trainer, Ralph C. Baltimore. Breaking from the stall gate, Carrara Marble and Eagle River covered the distance in handy fashion in 1:12 flat. The former showed a tendency to bear out during the journey and lagged behind his stablemate on the turn but they finished on even terms at the end of the six "jrlongs. Another of the Reineman menage, Dinner Hour, began his workout from the stall gate and went seven furlongs in 1:27 flat, which was an impressive trial. r-ck S. L., owned by Mrs. J. S. Letellier, was sent a ~le in preparation for his engagement in the La Salle Handicap here on Saturday. Jack S. L. was timed the mile in 1:39%, going handily. One of the better short trials this morning was hung out when -.o. V. E. Smiths Spring Chimes reeled off five furlongs in 1:00%.
